Type of Mesothelioma
The most common form of mesothelioma is “pleural mesothelioma"
which deals with the lungs. The symptoms results from pleural
effusion which is a collection of fluid between the two layers of
the pleura. Some of the symptoms may be difficulty in breathing,
weight loss, fever, persistent coughs, and difficulty swallowing.
The second form of mesothelioma is “peritoneal mesothelioma” which
deals with the abdomen. The symptoms results from collections of
fluids in abdomen called ascites. It causes the swelling of the
abdomen, and results in loss of appetite, bowel obstruction, anaemia,
fever, and nausea.
The third and the rarest form of mesothelioma is “pericardial
mesothelioma” which deals with the heart. The symptoms results
from cancer affecting the heart and the cavity that surrounds the
heart. Some of the symptoms may be chest pain, shortness of breath,
and palpitations. |
